Annual Sowerby Lecture

The Annual Sowerby Lecture in Philosophy and Medicine is the Sowerby Philosophy and Medicine project's flagship event. It usually takes place in October at King’s College Guy’s Campus and is free and open to the public.

 

The winner of the Annual Peter Sowerby Essay Contest is announced at the occasion of the Annual Lecture.

Previous speakers at the Annual Sowerby Lectures include Hanna Pickard, Neil Ferguson, Robyn Bluhm, Sir Ian Chalmers, Raymond Tallis, Gareth Owen, Jacob Stegenga and Havi Carel. Check out our video archive for recordings.

In 2023 the Annual Sowerby Lecture will be given by Professor Nancy Cartwright on the 2nd of November - more information to follow.
