The Annual Sowerby Lecture in Philosophy and Medicine is the Sowerby Philosophy and Medicine project's flagship event. In 2023, it will be given by Professor Nancy Cartwright.
The Annual Peter Sowerby Essay Contest is awarded each year on the occasion of the Annual Lecture in recognition of an outstanding essay written by a student on an issue relevant to the intersection of philosophy and medicine.
Each year, in advance of the Annual Lecture, the Sowerby Philosophy and Medicine Project organises an interdisciplinary workshop exploring a topic of particular relevance to philosophy, medicine and its intersection.
